CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- candidate Should possess Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Chemical is also acceptable).
- Between 1 to 4 yrs relevant experience in heat transfer as applied in the refinery and/or petrochemical industries.
- Conversant with refinery and petrochemical process considerations as they relate to fired heaters and heat exchangers.
- Should be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- The preferred candidate should be from a reputed university, with an attitude to learn process technologies.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The Mechanical Design Engineer will prepare Engineering Design Specifications for Heat Exchangers and Air Coolers in new unit designs.
- Apply knowledge of exchanger types and application in refinery / petrochemical processes.
- Review of Manufacturer Drawings for Fired Heaters and some specialised heat exchangers for compliance with UOP specifications.
- Apply a working knowledge of heater and heat exchange industry guidelines (API, TEMA).
- Apply a working knowledge of fired heater,heat exchanger, and air cooler thermal design software programs (HTRI, FRNC-5, various UOP proprietary programs).
- Give technical support to UOP consulting services by giving advice on heat transfer issues, liaising with continuing services engineers and by conducting heater assessments onsite.
