CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • candidate Should possess Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Chemical is also acceptable).
  • Between 1 to 4 yrs relevant experience in heat transfer as applied in the refinery and/or petrochemical industries.
  • Conversant with refinery and petrochemical process considerations as they relate to fired heaters and heat exchangers.
  • Should be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The preferred candidate should be from a reputed university, with an attitude to learn process technologies.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The Mechanical Design Engineer will prepare Engineering Design Specifications for Heat Exchangers and Air Coolers in new unit designs.
  • Apply knowledge of exchanger types and application in refinery / petrochemical processes.
  • Review of Manufacturer Drawings for Fired Heaters and some specialised heat exchangers for compliance with UOP specifications.
  • Apply a working knowledge of heater and heat exchange industry guidelines (API, TEMA).
  • Apply a working knowledge of fired heater,heat exchanger, and air cooler thermal design software programs (HTRI, FRNC-5, various UOP proprietary programs).
  • Give technical support to UOP consulting services by giving advice on heat transfer issues, liaising with continuing services engineers and by conducting heater assessments onsite.
